Liquid lipsticks are all the rage these days. Every brand is dabbling in this craze and I feel like I’m buying a new product every week. They’re just so perfect and convenient. My favorite ones are long-lasting, have amazing color, and are budget friendly.
I’ve swatched the ones in my collection from LA Girl, Milani, Kat Von D, Ruby Kisses, and Sephora. Check out the swatches and my thoughts on each set!
The Sephora Cream Lip Stains are beyond amazing. They wear for more than 8 hours with no smudges and very minimal creasing. If you need a red in your stash, Always Red should be the one. Strawberry Kissed and Watermelon Slice applied a little streaky so it was better to let each layer dry before applying more. Marvelous Mauve is another gem, a neutral that can be worn at any time. Sephora Cream Lip Stains retail for $14 (USD).
Milani AMORE Matte Lip Crémes are limited edition, I found the display in Walgreens for $6.99 (USD). Milani is really jumping on the matte lip color bandwagon by first releasing their matte lipsticks and now these lip crémes. Flirt is the problem child of this bunch because it applies streaky as well. Similar to other liquid lipsticks, you have to let it dry a bit before applying the next coat. If you’re a purple lip product junkie (like me) you’ll want to pick up Embrace.
Kat Von D is the real OG of this liquid lipstick game and she just spiced things up by extending the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick color range with 15 new shades! There’s nothing that can be done better with this formula. It’s long lasting, the colors are amazing, and I just love them. Lovesick, Susperia, and Sante Sangre are part of the new additions; Sante Sangre is such a true red orange! These can be found at Sephora for $20 (USD).
I’m no brand snob, I give my love (and my coin) to products from every range; drugstore, beauty supply store, mid to high end, and others in between. These Ruby Kisses liquid matte lipsticks were worth the $3.99 (USD) if you can find them at a beauty supply store in your area. These definitely take a second to dry down to matte and to be honest I’m not sure if they ever get all the way matte. I love a true dry matte finish and these don’t offer that. The colors are still great and of course the purple is my favorite. Think Pink has a little too much white in it for my skin tone.
These LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Glosses are probably my least favorite in my stash. The formulas were pretty watery and thin. After building them up the colors show pretty well and wear for a couple of hours. They can be found at local beauty supply stores and retail for $3.99(USD).
