Since I posted about the Pixi Overnight Glow Serum, I thought it best to show what else I’ve been using from the line. Sometimes skincare is similar to hair care in the fact that you’re more likely to see results if you use products from one line versus mixing and matching. I typically mix and match but I really wanted to give this brand a shot and see what would happen if I tried sticking to one product line. The only thing that isn’t Pixi are the cleansers I use (L’Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil and Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads) they aren’t going anywhere.
If you look at this bottle of toner, you can tell that I must like it because it’s almost gone. I’ve had it since right before Christmas 2015 and have been using it nightly after I wash my face. I love the way it feels on my skin; there’s a slight tingle to this toner which I can appreciate, because it makes me feel like the ingredients are working. Pixi says:
This exfoliating toner helps to brighten the complexion resulting in a healthy glow. Formulated with 5% glycolic acid, Glow Tonic exfoliates, brightens and smoothes the skintone and texture. Aloe vera, ginseng, and botanical extracts work together to nourish and treat your skin revealing an improved complexion. Alcohol-free and gentle on all skin types.
I’m so sure that this toner is what’s helped my pores shrink. Large pores on my cheeks are genetic (thanks Dad!) and I typically just dealing with them by using pore blurring products before applying any foundations. I got really close to the mirror the other day and did a double take on these pores and hon-ey they are noticeably smaller. This one’s a keeper!
Finally, I didn’t really need this Rosehip Oil blend because I already have a bottle of this essential oil. Rosehip is said to help even skintones and reduce the appearance of dark marks. I bought this mainly because it also had pomegranate oil which I’d never used before but has anti-oxidants and anti-aging properties.
This botanical blend is infused with a powerful complex of youth-preserving oils to help improve skin’s elasticity and glow. Sweet almond, rosehip, jojoba, pomegranate seed, and rose geranium oils nourish the complexion, leaving it comforted & smooth to the touch.
I will say, I enjoy applying this before bed and waking up to soft supple skin. A few drops is more than enough for my whole face and neck (don’t forget the neck!) without leaving it slick and greasy. I did try mixing with my daytime moisturizer but found that I was too oily during the day for it, so I only use this oil blend at night. Because this is an oil, the dropper works better and more effectively than it does with the Overnight Glow Serum.
There you have it, a full round up of my skincare goodies for now! I’m still experiencing a few breakouts (in the exact same spot, so annoying) but for the most part me and my skin are doing great!
