There comes a time in a girl’s life when she might have to admit, she’s a foundation junkie. I think most women get a little excited about new foundations even if they already have a “holy grail” product. I have a few in my arsenal that I’d consider holy grail but that didn’t stop me from wanting to try the newest extension of Maybelline’s FitMe line.
This particular FitMe foundation is supposed to create a flawless matte finish while reducing the appearance of pores. Maybelline says:
Eliminate the look of pores and achieve natural looking skin with this lightweight, mattifying foundation.
It’s claims are correct, I wore this foundation over a three day testing period and noticed that it was matte and the pores on my nose/cheek area looked smaller. No gripes there. My issue is the shade range.
If you were ordering online you’d think 360 Mocha was a beautiful rich shade for deep skin tones with a warm undertone. Well, the 360 Mocha I received wasn’t quite rich and had a very golden tone to it. This can definitely work for me in the winter months when I’m paler but there are certainly no shades to “fit me” when I’m tanned. I have the original formula FitMe in the same shade name/number and it’s certainly deeper.
The upside of this formula is in the consistency and the way it performs. Because the bottle doesn’t come with a pump, I’m glad they made it a bit thicker so there’s less chance of a mess. The foundation certainly does what it says it will do, I only noticed oil break through toward the end of my day every time I wore it.
You can find the Maybelline FitMe Matte+Poreless foundation at your local drugstores for about $5.99 – $7.99.
