MAC always finds a way to re-excite me and pull me back in. I love when they do cool and semi-quirky collections with products that look nothing like anything I currently own. Star Trek is one of the shows I remember watching but don’t actually remember anything that happened and for whatever reason there’s still an sliver of nostalgia there. The most I remember about Star Trek is the scene in Boomerang with Marcus and Angela, that’s my favorite movie! Anyway, the collection is comprised of mostly metallics and shimmer type items but I spotted two things I needed on my door step asap.
Launch into orbit with this powder that transforms skin upon contact. Available in Luna Luster, Strange New Worlds, or Highly Illogical. With swirls of complimenting colors and luminous pearls, it provides sheer luminosity, is creamy to the touch, and blends effortlessly.
These powders are bit softer and creamier than traditional mineralized skinfinishes. To the touch they feel like a semi-cream product but apply smooth and easy like a powder. The colors are so buildable which allows this to be a more versatile product for me. And they look so pretty, like mini galaxies in my makeup bag!
I picked up Highly Illogical and Strange New Worlds. Highly Illogical is described as a “sheer wash of golden plum with fine pearl” and Strange New Worlds is a “sheer wash of golden coral pearl.” If you’ve been keeping up with my powder highlight obsession you know golden peachy anything is getting thrown in the bag. The Highly Illogical powder looks pretty light in pan but is relatively warm and soft on the skin the plum tone to it is subtle but the pearl really stands out.
The Trip the Light Fantastic Powders are limited edition but still available online (and probably some stores and counters as well) for $34 (USD).
