One of these days I’m committing to a “no buy” and I’m sticking with it, that couldn’t happen while ColourPop was having a 20% off sale though! The already affordable brand dropped the cost of a lot of their items for two days, making them even more affordable and making it easier for me to fill my cart. During the sale I picked up a few of the newly released Matte X Lippie Stix.
The Matte X formula is supposed to be a matte formula that is less drying and more forgiving on the lips. ColourPop has been teasing this formula for a while now, first releasing Trust Me for a limited time, then giving Popping as a free gift with purchase a while back. Finally, the brand has launched a full 15 shade collection of the new lippie formula and I was excited to try it.
Matte X Lippie Stix was created to provide high intensity full coverage pigment with one stroke application. This long wearing formula has the smoothest, most velvety glide without any uncomfortable dragging or pulling- it literally melts onto your lips…. With a SUPER matte finish!!! It’s so sexy; we had to give it an X rating! It contains a super special silky powder that gives the lipstick a light weight feel, flexibility on the lips, prevents cracking and drying out. Lips stay looking fresh and vibrant all day! This formula is the MOST matte of any of our Lippie Stix babies! Like our other lippies, it contains Vitamin E, Shea and Avocado Butter (And NO Parabens!)
I purchased five of the matte x lippie stix in Chateau – warm toned blackened red, Trust Me – vivid true red, Poppin – bright fuschia, Back Up – mid tone plum, and Cami – neutral mauve pink. As you can see, on my skin the shades are quite vivid.
These lippie stix are very comfortable on the lips. I had already been giving a few of my liquid mattes a break because my lips wanted to fall off, so these are a great alternative. I’m also more inclined to throw a lippie stix in my purse for touch ups than I am with liquid lipsticks. As for wear, these behave like traditional lipsticks (even doing that inner lip thing I hate, you know where it just refuses to stick where your top lip rests? Just me? Ok.) and can last between 6-8 hours depending on what you’re eating and drinking. I think these will be perfect for summer because they’re a little bit softer on the lips and the colors are amazing.
The Matte X Lippie Stix retail for $5 at www.colourpop.com
