The beauty supply store is the only place I get lost in besides Target. So many hidden and affordable gems sit in those aisles and I come home with way more than I intended to every time. On a recent trip to my local beauty supply store (not to be confused with Sally’s, they are NOT the same) I noticed Ruby Kisses had released a pretty extensive line of makeup brushes. The brushes range from $2.99 – $5.99 but you know beauty supply store prices vary by location, either way that’s a steal for a brush and in the same range as some brushes in Target and Walmart.
The line featured 14 face and eye brushes in the display. I picked up three – duo fiber face brush, large eye shadow brush, and the tapered eyeshadow brush. You can never have too many eye shadow brushes and at 2.99 a pop, I can stock up on these without breaking the bank! The duo fiber face brush is marked at $4.99 on the website, but I paid $5.99 for it in the beauty supply store.
Each brush features a pink ferrule with a white handle, they’re pretty light which automatically makes you want to apply more pressure when using but that’s not really necessary. The fibers on these brushes are synthetic so you don’t have to worry about losing a lot of product in the fibers.
The packaging tells you what products can be used, where to use, and how to use each brush. The tapered shadow brush even instructs you to use windshield wiper motions! That makes these very newbie friendly.
The duo fiber brush is pretty large for me to apply highlighters the way I definitely like it for liquid foundation and cream blush products.
And finally, the large eyeshadow brush seriously packs a punch when applying color to the lid. When using it I loved that it covered the space of my mobile lid perfectly. I have large eyes, so that’s a lot of space to cover and it did the job.
I really don’t think you can go wrong with these brushes, I’m not sure how many washes they’ll endure without shedding (if they shed) but for the price they’re worth the first try and possibly a repurchase.
