If you haven’t heard/seen/read the hype surrounding indie cosmetics brand ColourPop Cosmetics, I’m positive you live under a rock. Colourpop is a cute brand that has neat packaging, bright colors, and a drugstore product price point. They offer eyeshadows, blushes, bronzers, highlighters, lipsticks, and lip pencils. After seeing tons of pictures floating around Instagram of people and their ColourPop packages with cute handwritten notes, I had to find out if the brand lived up to all of it’s hype.
Here are 4 reasons I fell in love with this brand:
ColourPop shows so much personality through their website and social media accounts. With shade descriptions like “It’s like a hard on but with feelings and shit.” (description for Heart On lippiestick), Not only did I literally laugh out loud when reading that one but I feel like I’m listening to my girlfriends talking. I immediately fell in love with this and made it a point to read all the shade descriptions.
This indie brand sets itself apart for me because they aren’t trying to be edgy or hard but the brand comes off very fun and chic. A girly girl’s choice. Additionally, they’ve made it a point to brand themselves as a company for every shade of girl in the world. When I saw their product swatches on fair, medium, AND dark skin, I was sold! I had to buy something.
Now, I love my classic reds, pinks, and purples but sometimes that gets little boring and although I may not buy them all I love to see the rainbow of lipstick and eyeshadow colors. For the lips, ColourPop offers the palest nude to the vampiest black you can imagine. The eyeshadows have some of the best pigmentation I’ve seen at that price point. I could go on and on. The highlighters are like a baby angel kissed your faced and blessed you with glow! How could you not want to try them?
I mentioned this brand boasts drugstore prices right? Everything is $5-$8 (USD). You can’t beat that. You can’t get a handwritten message, great packaging, pigmentation, dozens of shades, and quality product for $5 – $8. It seems that something is always missing but somehow ColourPop has risen to the occasion by providing a quality product that caters to varying skin tones but doesn’t break the bank. In my book, they win. Overall I really like this brand and I’m glad I took the plunge and purchased a few items.
